My kids love playing with play dough but it can be a really expensive hobby for them. Plus, it always seems like my kids forget to put it away and then its dry and un-usable. If you make your own Salt Dough its equally as fun for your kids and fast and easy to make. My three oldest kids are in full day school right now so I am always looking for projects to do with my three year old daughter. This is a fun activity that she spends hours enjoying!
Make your own Salt Dough
Ingredients
1 Cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/4 cup cornstarch
3/4- 1 cup water
Directions
1. Mix all dry ingredients over low heat in saucepan.
2. Very slowly add water. You may not need the full one cup so add slowly until mixture thickens to a soft dough ball.
3. Remove from heat.
4. If you want colored dough, you could knead in koolaid packets at this point.
5. When completely cool knead dough until smooth.
6. Have fun! 🙂
Hi, my name is Melissa! I live in Spanish Fork, Utah. I'm happily married to Rob, and together we have five wonderful kids. Our family loves to embark on adventures, often in our RV, exploring the great outdoors. I'm an avid reader and a big fan of Hallmark movies – they always have a way of lifting my spirits. Hiking is another passion of mine; there's nothing like the tranquility of nature. I have a sweet tooth for chocolate and a love for Mexican food, both of which make life a little more delicious. In my downtime, I enjoy playing games with my family, creating memories and sharing laughter. Life is an adventure, and I'm here to enjoy every moment of it!
