There are so many flavor combinations that I love, but my absolute favorite is chocolate/peanut butter. I have found with this recipe that dark chocolate is the best chip choice so your cookies won't be as sweet.

I love baking with dark chocolate chunks and peanut butter chips the best, but the base of this cookie recipe is absolutely amazing so you can also use milk chocolate chips, m&m's, or any of your favorite cookie mix-ins.

What are some Popular Cookie Mixins?

  • Chocolate Chips
  • M&M's
  • Butterscotch Chips
  • Oreos
  • Cranberries
  • Pretzels
  • Potato Chips
  • Sprinkles
  • Combination of multiple toppings

Most important cookie making tips

There are a few tips to remember with making cookies, but I think the most important one is to not over mix the eggs. I wouldn't mix them any more than 15 seconds.

Another problem that I find with making cookies is that people bake them too long. These turn out the best when you take them out before you think they are ready and let them finish cooking on the pan.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Microwave the butter for 45 seconds. Use a whisk to finish melting. With a wooden spoon added the sugars to the butter in a large bowl. Add Vanilla and eggs and stir for 15 seconds.
  3. With wooden spoon add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture until dough forms large ball. Add chocolate chunks and peanut butter chips.
  4. Use a large ice cream scoop to scoop out cookie dough. Add 9 per cookie sheet. This recipe makes about 18 large cookies.
  5. Bake for 9-11 minutes. (I prefer 9 and then I let it rest on the hot pan for a few minutes)
