Peanut Butter Banana Granola

I love Granola. It is one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast. I love to eat it with milk , or over yogurt. I have had a very hard time find the perfect granola because often their are nuts in it. I am not a fan of nuts. We recently purchased a Dehydrator because my son was going on a 50 mile hike for scouts. He needed a weeks worth of snacks that couldn't go bad. We were able to dehydrate lots of delicious fruit as well as make Granola. This granola was perfect to store in a ziplock bag and then add milk when you are ready to eat it. I'm not kidding, this granola is really good. Plus, it is so easy to make! Really, it doesn't get better than that!!

Peanut Butter Banana Granola

What you need
Dehydrator (We found that we really like the Nesco Dehydrator-- we bought ours from Amazon)
3 cups. Oats
1/2 cup PB2
1/2 cup Splenda Brown Sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
3 bananas

Directions:
1. In medium sized bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, PB2 and melted butter. Mix until completely wet. If its not wet, add a little more butter or honey.
2. On two separate trays in dehydrator, spread out granola evenly.
3. Slice up Bananas and add to separate tray.
4. Set dehydrator to 145-160 degrees and continue until dry. (Amount of time depends on dehydrator that you use.)

Tip:  When Dehydrating Bananas, use an Egg Slicer for the perfect sized bananas every time. Sounds funny, but it works perfectly. Cut your banana into four pieces so they are about the size of an egg, and use the slicer for perfect small slices.

Once the Granola and bananas are finished, you can mix them together and eat immediately or store for later. I have found that a mason jar works perfectly for storage and you can pour some into a bowl when ready. Our Homemade Peanut Butter Banana Granola tastes delicious dry or for breakfast with milk.
