You will thank me later for this Chocolate Waffles Recipe because they are so fast to make and taste so good. Start to finish, about 10 minutes for a delicious chocolatey treat.

I got my Dash Mini Waffle Maker in the mail today so I decided to play around a little bit. With the whole Keto Chaffle craze, I ordered myself a Dash mini. This recipe isn't Keto, though.

Really, its not a breakfast waffle either. I would consider it more of a dessert waffle. Dessert waffles can be a thing, right? Guess it is a waffle desserts recipe. Really, it tastes like chocolate cake-- so I guess we'll call it at "Caffle"? :).
Really, it is a double chocolate, or chocolate chocolate chip waffles because it has the cocoa and the chocolate chips. But you can't skip the double chocolate.
This is a delicious easy chocolate waffle recipe that is not overly sweet. You can print recipe below.

Tips for the perfect Waffles
-The chocolate in this recipe makes it more at risk to stick to the waffle iron. Make sure and grease the iron before each waffle. You can use oil or cooking spray.
-You can save your waffles in the fridge for up to 2 days or you can freeze for up to a week.
-You can re-heat your waffles in the microwave, toaster or with the waffle maker.
-If you want dark chocolate waffles, use dark chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate.
-It is always best to cook according to manufacturers directions because each waffle iron is different.

Chocolate Waffles Recipe
makes 16 mini homemade waffles
Ingredients
1 1/2 Cup Flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
4 T melted unsalted butter
2 cup milk ( you can also use 2 cup buttermilk)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips
- Add all wet ingredients and dry ingredients except chocolate chips into Blendtec Blender and blend for approximately 15 seconds or until mixed.
- Stir in Chocolate Chips.
- Make sure you cook waffles on a preheated waffle iron. I used the Dash Mini waffle maker but you can use any kind of waffle irons. Some people prefer to make them like Belgian waffles. I like the mini size because then I won't eat too much!
- Grease waffle irons before each use. Pour in 2 Tablespoons of batter into mini waffle iron and cook until waffles are crispy on the outside.
- Repeat until all homemade waffles batter is used.
Serve your waffles warm with powder sugar, fresh strawberries and ice cream, or strawberries and whipped cream.
This is an easy chocolate waffle recipe. I love it because I always have the ingredients on hand so I can make the waffle batter whenever I am needing sweets treats.
You probably shouldn't make it too often though, but it will be tempting! I love eating my waffles warm with ice cream melted on the top but something as simple as powdered sugar tastes amazing, too.
