I feel like I have spent the last few years trying to answer one question:
Why am I so tired?
I’m 45, a mom of five, and energy has been a HUGE struggle for me.
At first I wondered if it was just life. Five kids. Work. Getting older. A million things going on at once.
Then I started wondering about perimenopause.
Then hormones.
Then bloodwork.
Then I discovered my ferritin was low.
Surely that was it, right?
I had iron infusions and really hoped I was finally going to get that magical burst of energy I had been waiting for.
Nope.
I still felt tired.
So if you have ever found yourself at 45 with a cabinet full of plenty of supplements, trying to figure out what your body needs and wondering why you still don’t feel like yourself…
Hi. That’s me.
And through ALL of my trying-this-and-stopping-that, magnesium has been one of the supplements that has stayed in my routine.
That’s why the Palm Life Magnesium AM/PM System immediately caught my attention.
I’ve taken magnesium at night for years.
But Palm Life has a magnesium for the MORNING?
The time of day when I actually need some energy?
Tell me more.

SHOP PALM LIFEWhy Magnesium Has Stayed in My Routine
If you’ve ever started researching why you’re exhausted, you know how quickly things can get overwhelming.
Should I take iron?
Vitamin D?
B vitamins?
What about hormones?
Am I in perimenopause?
Is my thyroid okay?
Do I have a magnesium deficiency?
Do I just need to sleep more?
I’ve asked SO many of these questions.
And I’ve tried enough things that I don’t want to keep adding random bottles to my day.
Magnesium is different for me because it was already part of my routine before I found Palm Life.
Magnesium is an essential mineral that the body uses for hundreds of biochemical reactions, including processes involved in energy production, muscle function and the nervous system.
That’s the science.
The mom version?
My body needs magnesium, so it’s one of my basics.

But I Thought Magnesium Was for Nighttime?
ME TOO.
This is exactly why Palm Life Magnesium caught my attention.
A lot of the magnesium supplements I’ve used or looked at have been geared toward nighttime.
You see words like:
relaxation.
muscle relaxation.
sleep quality.
calm.
That’s how I’ve always thought about magnesium.
So seeing an AM bottle completely changed the conversation for me.
Palm Life didn’t just put the same supplement into two bottles and slap AM and PM labels on them.
They’re different formulas.
And when you are a tired 45-year-old mom, the words AM + energy production are going to get your attention pretty quickly. 😂
What’s in Palm Life AM Magnesium?
Here’s where I promise not to turn into a scientist.
Palm Life AM Magnesium gives you 200 mg of magnesium.
It uses three forms:
- Dimagnesium Malate
- Aquamin Mg™
- Magnesium Orotate
It also has taurine, L-tyrosine and vitamin B6.
Palm Life built the morning formula around daytime needs, including normal energy production, muscle function and nervous system function.†
That’s what interested me.
I’m not taking it because I think 200 mg of magnesium is going to magically undo years of fatigue.
I’m taking it because magnesium is already an essential nutrient in my routine, and I like the idea of a formula designed for the time of day when I need to GO.
My Energy Struggle Is Bigger Than Magnesium
I think this is really important to say.
I am not taking Palm Life Magnesium because I think I’ve finally found the answer to why I’m tired.
I’ve thought I found the answer before.
Ferritin was going to be the answer.
Iron infusions were going to be the answer.
Hormones might be the answer.
Maybe perimenopause explained everything.
I’ve changed supplements. I’ve stopped supplements. I’ve started new ones. I’ve had labs done.
I’m still figuring it out.
And at this point, I’m much less interested in a miracle and much more interested in taking care of the basics.
Magnesium is one of my basics.
It plays a role in normal energy production, but that does NOT mean taking magnesium is a treatment for fatigue or that everyone who is tired needs more magnesium.
If you think you have a true magnesium deficiency or another medical condition, that’s a conversation for your healthcare provider.
For me, this is simply part of my own wellness routine.
And Then At Night…PLEASE Let Me Sleep
This is the funny thing about struggling with energy.
I can be exhausted all day.
Then bedtime comes and apparently my brain thinks:
NOW would be an excellent time to think about every single thing that has happened since 1997.
Why??? 😂
This is the side of magnesium I’m much more familiar with.
Palm Life PM Magnesium provides 250 mg of magnesium.
It contains:
- Magnesium Bisglycinate
- Aquamin Mg™
- Magnesium Taurinate
Plus inositol, L-theanine and apigenin.
Palm Life designed this formula around evening relaxation, muscle relaxation and restful sleep support.†
So basically:
8 AM me: Can I PLEASE have some energy?
10 PM me: Can I PLEASE go to sleep?
Palm Life apparently understands my life.

Why Are There Different Forms of Magnesium?
This is another rabbit hole I’ve gone down.
There are SO many forms of magnesium.
Magnesium citrate. Magnesium oxide. Magnesium glycinate. Magnesium L-threonate. Magnesium sulfate.
And then you start reading about an easily absorbed form of magnesium, a chelated form, easier absorption, magnesium stores and how much magnesium you actually need.
At some point my eyes glaze over.
I don’t want choosing magnesium to become my part-time job.
What I like about Palm Life is that it uses different forms in the morning and nighttime formulas rather than pretending every form of magnesium is exactly the same.
The AM side uses dimagnesium malate, Aquamin Mg™ and magnesium orotate.
The PM side uses magnesium bisglycinate, Aquamin Mg™ and magnesium taurinate.
Six magnesium sources across the complete system.
That’s about as far into the magnesium weeds as this mom needs to go.
How Much Magnesium Is in Palm Life Magnesium?
This is one number I DO want to know when comparing magnesium supplements.
AM: 200 mg magnesium
PM: 250 mg magnesium
So you’re not just looking at a giant number on the front of the package and wondering how many mg of magnesiumyou’re actually getting.
The amounts are clearly listed.
And I appreciate that.
What I’m Hoping for With Palm Life Magnesium
I’m hoping for something really boring.
A routine I actually stick with.
That’s it.
I don’t expect to wake up tomorrow with the energy I had at 25.
I don’t expect magnesium to fix my ferritin, hormones, perimenopause or every other thing I’ve investigated while trying to figure out why I’m tired.
I’m also not going to take it for three days and come back here claiming it changed my life.
I’m going to use it.
AM in the morning. PM at night.
And see how I feel.
Because after trying SO many things, I’m realizing that simple and consistent might be the best move for me.
Is Palm Life Magnesium Worth It?
The Palm Life AM/PM Magnesium System costs $54.95.
For me, this one makes sense because magnesium isn’t a brand-new supplement I’m adding because somebody on the internet told me I needed it.
I was already taking magnesium.
What I’m changing is my routine.
Instead of thinking of magnesium as exclusively a nighttime supplement, I now have one formula designed for daytime and another designed for nighttime.
And considering energy production is something I’ve been thinking about a LOT lately, I’m especially excited to try the AM side consistently.†

My Palm Life Magnesium Review at 45
If you’ve made it this far, you probably realize this isn’t really a story about magnesium.
It’s a story about me trying to feel like myself again.
I’m 45.
I’ve wondered about perimenopause.
I’ve tried hormones.
I’ve chased my low ferritin.
I’ve had iron infusions.
I’ve bought plenty of supplements.
I’ve Googled things late at night.
I’ve changed my routine more times than I can count.
And I’m still tired.
I’m still trying to figure it out.
But one thing I’m learning is that I don’t necessarily need more things.
I want to get better at consistently doing the things that already make sense for me.
Magnesium makes sense for me.
That’s why I’m genuinely excited about Palm Life’s approach.
Give me something for the morning when I need to GO.
Give me something for nighttime when I desperately need to STOP.
