Palm Life Microgreens Review: Does It Actually Taste Good?

I know why you’re here.

You want to know if Palm Life Microgreens tastes like dirt. Or earth. Or grass. Or if it has that weird healthy aftertaste that stays on your taste buds forever.

No. No. And no.

We’ve tried our share of greens drinks over the years, and Palm Life Microgreens Citrus is the best-tasting one we’ve ever tried.

And I’m not even the biggest fan in our house.

My husband is obsessed with it.

The funny part is that when he first opened it, he was nervous. It smelled healthy. You know exactly what I mean. He was fully expecting one of those drinks you swallow quickly because you know it’s supposed to be good for you.

Then he tasted it.

“Wow. This is really good.” (It was one of those moments that you wish you had the camera out to film the authentic reaction. It was THAT positive!)

Now it’s his new favorite Palm Life product by far. He actually wishes he could drink it more than once a day.

So if taste is the reason you’re hesitating, keep reading. This review is mostly about what it’s actually like to drink Palm Life Microgreens Citrus because that’s what I would want to know before spending $99.95 on it.

Does Palm Life Microgreens Taste Good?

Yes! Palm Life Microgreens Citrus has a light citrus flavor without the dirt, earthy or grassy taste we expected from a microgreens drink. It also doesn’t leave a weird greens aftertaste. My husband says it’s the best greens drink we’ve tried, and it has become his favorite Palm Life product.

That’s the quick answer.

And honestly, that’s the biggest reason I’m writing this review.

His First Palm Life Microgreens Taste Test

I wish I had recorded this.

When my husband opened the Palm Life Microgreens, his confidence level immediately dropped.

It smelled like greens.

He was expecting it to taste exactly like it smelled, and I think he was already preparing himself to say, “It’s not that bad.”

Then he took a drink and his entire reaction changed.

He was genuinely impressed.

The Citrus flavor actually tastes good. It doesn’t taste like you’re drinking broccoli microgreens. It doesn’t taste like dirt. It isn’t earthy. And he doesn’t get a strange aftertaste afterward.

He just likes it.

A LOT.

Of all the Palm Life products we’ve tried, this has easily become his favorite.

What Does Palm Life Microgreens Citrus Taste Like?

I’d describe it as a pleasant citrus-flavored drink, not a glass of vegetables.

You know how some greens powders have so much “green” flavor that no amount of flavoring can hide it?

We haven’t had that experience with this one.

It has enough flavor that you aren’t sitting there thinking about the fact that you’re drinking a product containing 15 different tiny greens.

And apparently Palm Life figured out the most important ingredient for my husband:

Something his taste buds actually approve of.

Because a supplement can sound incredible on paper, but if it tastes terrible, it’s probably going to end up sitting in our pantry.

This one doesn’t.

What’s Actually in Palm Life Microgreens?

I promised not to turn this into a science lesson, so here’s the easy version.

Palm Life Microgreens contains 15 different varieties of microgreens. These include familiar plants like broccoli microgreens, red cabbage, kale, cauliflower, Brussels sprout, radish, arugula, pea shoots and fava shoots.

Microgreens are basically tiny greens harvested during an early stage of the vegetable plant, rather than waiting for them to become mature plants.

Palm Life uses 400 mg of its microgreens blend in each one-gram serving and adds real fruit extracts for flavor.

There is also no spirulina and no added B-vitamin premix.

That’s about as complicated as I need my husband’s favorite drink to be.

Why Microgreens Instead of Mature Greens?

This is where I started reading more about the power of microgreens and why people are so interested in them.

Microgreens are harvested while plants are still young, around the time those early leaves develop. They aren’t the same thing as eating a full serving of mature greens, and I don’t look at this as a replacement for eating real food and vegetables.

For us, it’s simply an easy way to add a variety of plants to something my husband already enjoys drinking.

And that’s really the appeal.

No pretending we’re suddenly growing trays of fresh microgreens in the kitchen.

No trying to convince him that a giant bowl of greens is exciting.

He mixes up his Citrus Microgreens and happily drinks it.

I’ll take the win.

The Best Supplement Is the One You Actually Use

This is probably my biggest takeaway.

There can be a lot of talk about the potential of microgreens, nutrient content, essential vitamins, antioxidants and all the other reasons people are interested in these baby greens.

But I’m a mom.

I also live in the real world.

If I spend almost $100 on something and nobody in my house wants to consume it, none of that matters very much to me.

My husband actually wants this one.

He likes the flavor. He likes drinking it. He remembers to take it. And when it’s gone, he’s going to notice.

That’s a pretty successful product in our house.

Is Palm Life Microgreens Worth $99.95?

Palm Life Microgreens costs $99.95, so this isn’t something I’d casually throw in my cart without thinking about it.

But knowing how much my husband loves it makes a difference for me.

We have definitely spent money on supplements that sounded amazing and then sat untouched because nobody enjoyed taking them.

I’d rather spend money on something he actually looks forward to using.

And Palm Life Microgreens Citrus has absolutely become that product for him.
