Low Carb Sloppy Joes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of lean ground beef or ground turkey
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1/2 C. low carb ketchup Walden brand is sugar-free
  • 1/8 C. yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp. low carb brown sugar substitute
  • Green leaf lettuce leaves
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Diced jalapenos
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the lean ground beef (or turkey) with the minced garlic and diced onion. Drain the grease.
  2. Combine the browned meat with the low carb ketchup, mustard and sweetener. Let simmer a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Serve over green leaf lettuce leaves with shredded cheese and diced jalapenos.
