Everyone’s favorite Silly Old Bear is back with WINNIE THE POOH playing only in theatres everywhere beginning July 15th! Here is a brief synopsis of Walt Disney Animation Studios latest release:

Inspired by three stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Winnie the Pooh” reunites audiences with the honey-loving, philosophical bear and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo and Eeyore in a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit.

I had the wonderful opportunity to see an advanced screening if Winnie the Pooh with my husband and three kids.  It was such a neat opportunity especially because we were able to watch it in the main theatre at the Walt Disney Studios lot.  It was so fun to be able to drive into the Walt Disney studios and have the big movie posters on the walls of the buildings and have fun props and back drops around the grounds.  The theater was absolutely beautiful and it was so fun to have a little music and lights show at the start of the movie.

Before the movie started we had the chance to watch a really cute short film called “The Ballad of Nessie”.  I love when they put shorts in front of their movies because it really gets you excited and ready for the movie.  The Ballad of Nessie was an adorable story and such a great start to the Winnie the Pooh movie.

Set in the “bonny blue highlands” of Scotland, “The Ballad of Nessie” is a whimsical and colorful tall tale about the friendly Loch Ness monster, Nessie, and how she and her best friend MacQuack the rubber duck came to live in the moor they now call home. Setting the adventure into motion is a greedy land developer named MacFroogle, who decides to build a mini-golf empire on top of Nessie’s home.  This is a very heart felt story that we can all relate to.

Winnie the Pooh
In this movie, “Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with “Winnie the Pooh.” Featuring the timeless charm, wit and whimsy of the original short films, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical “bear of very little brain” and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail.  “Ever have one of those days where you just can’t win, Eeyore?” asks Pooh.  Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some honey.”

I loved everything about this movie from start to finish.  It was such a cute story filled with so many funny lines.  My three kids were mesmerized as they watched the film and enjoyed this new Winnie the Pooh story.  I loved having Zooey Deschanel doing some of the music because her sounds is so perfect for the Winnie the Pooh story.  They stay very true to each character as the story develops and it really felt very nostalgic as I remembered how much I loved the Winnie the Pooh story as a kid.  Here is a great clip of Zooey Deschanels video “so long”.

The one thing that I noticed about the movie was that it wasn’t very long.  It is a total of 68 minutes long but every minute of those 68 minutes are wonderful and well worth seeing as the story is wonderful, the look is beautiful and the characters were a pure delight.  I would give this movie a 5 star since everyone in my family loved it from start to finish.

This movie is such an amazing movie about friendship.  Winnie the Pooh really helps us to understand the importance of friendships in our life and how they should always come first.  You will leave the movie with a smile on your face because it has so much heart.
