I had the opportunity to review two items for Kiboomu. Kiboomu is a children’s mobile app and music publishing company successfully founded by 2 music & tech-savvy, top 100 Canadian women entrepreneurs, Wendy Wiseman and Sherry Segal.

Their Mission

Kids Grow Smart with Music!

Developing Music and Apps that entertain children, but educate as well.

It’s all about encouraging children to be creative through song and play. And, filling a child’s day with laughter while expanding their growing minds in a fun and inviting way.

The first item that I reviewed was their Top 30 preschool songs CD. This is available to download via itunes. In this CD they have lots of fun, upbeat songs perfect for preschoolers. My two year old and 5 year old had a lot of fun dancing to the music. There are great songs like, The Muffin Man, The Wheels on the Bus, Humpty Dumpty and much more! My sons favorite song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!
The second item that I reviewed was their Old MacDonald Piano App. I was able to download it to use on my IPod Touch.
This app can be used on four different modes, as you can see in the picture above. The children are able to play the piano as the song is being sung.

With these play-a-song piano apps, children can do the following:

♫ follow the lighted keys or match the colorful music notes to the piano keys ♫ watch the piano keys light up one by one with the song ♫ press the start button and sing along ♫ add animal sounds to the song ♫ hear the song played on a banjo, xylophone, harp, flute, bells and more! ♫ record your child singing and playing the piano! ♫ sing and read karaoke style lyrics in English, French & Spanish

My kid have enjoyed playing this app very much. My two year olds loves to listen to the song being sung as he randomly presses piano keys. My 5 year old likes to sing along as she tries to learn how to play. My 7 year old is a lot more successful and he loves to use all of the different option this app offers. This app is a lot of fun for kids and I highly recommend it.

I love all of the different options that are available to you with this app. One of my favorites options is adding the animals sounds to the song as well as being able to add different instruments. This makes it different every time they use it!
