I don’t think that I have ever seen a movie that my kids so quickly fell in love with. I’m talking about all four of my kids, boys and girls. Probably millions of other kids around the world, too. It quickly became such a loved movie by kids and adults of all ages. We all watched it again and again, memorized all the songs and it was a movie our Country talked about again and again. My kids were so excited when we had the opportunity to review Disney’s Frozen Storybook App and books. They are a great addition to our collection. My kids love to read so these books were quickly well loved. We received these items for review. All opinions are my own.
Frozen: The Junior Novelization: This New York Times and USA TODAY best-selling novel retells the whole exciting story and features eight pages of full-color scenes from the movie!
I love that they really have books for different ages. The Junior Novelization was really fun for my 9 year old daughter because she was able to re-experience the entire story through reading. She loved that she was able to use her imagination through the book and picture what was going on. Having seen the movie, she was able to put really faces to each character in the story.
Frozen Read-Along Storybook and CD: This USA TODAY best-selling novel tells the story of fearless optimist Anna who setsoff on an epic journey—to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
This book is really fun for all ages. The colors and photos are absolutely beautiful and we all love all the characters, especially Olaf! My kids enjoyed this book because it has the read-along CD. This allowed my younger children to enjoy the story again and again following along with the CD. This was helpful for mom, because otherwise they would want me to read it to them again and again! 🙂
Frozen: A Sister More Like Me: Explore a wintery world of magic in Walt Disney Animation Studio’s latest film, Frozen. This jacketed picture book features an original story about Anna and Elsa, the film’s two sisters, as well as illustrations by one of the artists who worked on the film.
This is a beautiful book. The illustrations are stunning, but more beautiful is the powerful story of sisters. I love that the true love in the story was about family and not about boy/girl relationships. I thought this made their relationship so powerful and beautiful and really teaches the importance of family.
Frozen: Storybook Deluxe: Now available in Apple’s App Store, this digital storybook introduces early readers to Disney’sFrozen through all-new interactive features. Children and families can relive the epic adventure by flipping the device upside-down to hear the story from sisters Anna and Elsa’s points of view, using “ice craft” tools that let kids create and build their own frozen scenes and crystal palaces, and watching video clips from the film itself.
My kids love playing on my phone. I find it a great tool to use when I am trying to get something done or when I am at an appointment and need them to be a little quieter. Seriously, I think apps are heaven sent because they save me so often when I need my kids quiet! 🙂 The Frozen App is adorable one that has so much for kids to do.
In this App, your child has the option between reading the Frozen story or playing games. The story is really need because you can listen to it in two ways. You can hear it from Anna’s perspective or from Elsa’s perspective.
Your child can flip through page by page as the story is read to them or as a parent, you can press the record button and record your own voice reading the story. My kids loved this option because whenever they read the story they hear it in my voice. It is more personal for them and they loved having this option. I love it because it makes it more special.
In game play, you have the option of playing puzzles, snow globe fun or free draw.
In Snow globe, you can decorate your scene and then add a snow globe to it. This is fun for kids to personalize and then have the opportunity to add some of their favorite characters to the scene that they created. This is fun because it looks like a real snow globe with falling snow.
Free Draw allows them to create a winter scene with snow flakes, swirls, icicles or free drawing.
The puzzle game was definitely a favorite of my kids. They had a choice between 6 puzzles. Each puzzle is shown like the photo above completely covered up and they have to find the matching shape and move it to the match to slowly uncover the picture.
The more matches they make, the more of the photo they can see until they finish their puzzle and then the final photo is revealed.
The Frozen: Storybook Deluxe is available now in Apples App store.
