I don’t know if all kids are like this, or just my kids, but pasta is definitely their meal of choice.  Whether its spaghetti, rigatoni, macaroni, or penne, it doesn’t matter.  It could have red sauce, cheese sauce, meat sauce or pesto sauce and they are perfectly fine as long as they are noodles!  I am a lover of Italian food, too, so I really can’t complain.  I will tell you though, one thing that has always driven me crazy when it comes to making pasta.  I always dread straining it.  It seems like every time I would use my strainer, the noodles would fall into it too fast or fill it up too quickly and noodles would fall down my drain!  I hated wasting those extra noodles!  If you are anything like me, you will be very happy to know that there is a wonderful solution!  This solution is the Bialetti 5-quart pasta pot.  I think this pot is absolutely genius.  Not only does it have a built in strain on the lid, but it actually LOCKS in to the pot so there is absolutely no possibility of losing any noodles!  It helps you to drain your water safely and easily.  My husband would always hold the strainer for me while I poured and there have been times when the hot water splashed on him.  I would feel so bad when this happened and so I am glad that with the interlock feature it allows me to strain the pasta without any problems!   This perfectly does that job and eliminates any need for a colander.
The Bialetti pasta pot is available in three hot colors!  You can get it in Purple Passion, Blue Cheer and Orange spice.  I chose to receive mine in Orange spice!  They awesome colors make cooking so much fun!  It is very affordable at only $39.95.  This pan is also uniquely shaped to make it easier to cook spaghetti and lasagna noodles without having to break them.  My husbands favorite food is my homemade lasagna so finding this pan was so exciting because the lasagna noodles fit perfectly so I didn’t have to worry about needing to break them to fit.   I think they really thought of everything with these pans!  They also have a great non-stick interior to help with your perfectly cooked pasta and also makes it so easy to clean!
Of course, just because this is called a Pasta pot, doesn’t mean that you can only cook pasta in it!  This pot is perfect for not only pasta but for vegetables, potatoes or any other foods that need to be drained.  My husband cooked us some baby potatoes in this and they turned out so delicious!  And of course, when he went to strain the potatoes all he had to do was lock on the lid and he could strain without any help!  We love our Bialetti Pasta pot!  This would make a great gift for the holidays!  I know that I love getting new things for my kitchen and I’m sure if you bought this the receiver would love it, too!
My eight year old son is starting to learn how to cook with me and he thought it was so cool to be able to make noodles for the first time with a bright orange pasta pot!  He was so excited for us to take a picture of his first pot of boiling noodles!  🙂
