I love a good mystery. This is one of my favorite things that I like about the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel is that they have really fun mystery shows that I can watch with my entire family.
I watch many of the Hallmark “romance” movies, with my girls only, but my boys are not happy with me if I watch one of the murder mysteries without them! Don’t worry– there is still Romance in it. 🙂 There is a wedding and a fun story line between Roe and her new boyfriend Nick.
I had the opportunity to pre-screen the episode Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: An Inheritance to Die For and we had a lot of fun watching it. I will tell you, we were WRONG about 5 times on who the killer was. They keep you on your toes.
About Hallmark Movies & Mysteries “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: An Inheritance to Die For”
Sally, Allison’s aunt is poisoned during a family wedding reception and Aurora Teagarden (Bure) vows to get to the bottom of the crime, especially when her mother, a friend of the dead woman, stands to inherit the bulk of the massive estate. With help from her new beau Nick (Matter) and her Real Murders Club regulars, Roe won’t stop until she brings the killer to justice…or dies trying.
This episode starts out with Roe (Candace Cameron Bure) holding a murder mystery party where we get a good introduction of the characters and their personalities.
The interactions and personalities in the beginning scenes really help set up the movie nicely and help you see where relationships and conflicts are.
The murder happened pretty early in the movie where Allison’s aunt was poisoned at her wedding reception. This was nice because it gave a lot of time to effectively investigate who the murderer was.
Roe and her Real Murders Club were great because they attempt to help solve a murder while bumping heads with the actual investigators. In this episode, there are a few people who stood out as suspects but after each new clue comes in, you second guessed who the killer was. They did a really good job at not letting you know until the time was right.
So, who was the murderer?
Don’t worry– I’m not going to give away any spoilers! You are going to have to tune in and find out for yourself!
The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries are a lot of fun. I was very impressed with the story writing and how they really keep you interested in the storyline but you have no clue who the killer is going to be.
There are lots of surprises, intense moments, plot turns, romance and adventure. And its all good, clean, Hallmark fun so you never have to worry.
I was sure I knew and then something would happen to change my mind. That is a sign of good writing and good acting! Grab some popcorn, and your entire family for a murder mystery adventure that they won’t see coming!
