Let me ask you a question. What would you do if you couldn’t see your newborn babies first smile? What if you were sitting at your desk in school and couldn’t see the chalkboard? Sight is so important in reaching our potential in every day of our lives. Imagine a father who isn’t able to carry a good job and provide for his family because he can’t see well. A child who wants to go to college but might not get this opportunity because of their eyesight. Did you know that there are 1.1 billion people who need glasses but don’t have the access?
Four months ago, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Those moments in the hospital are some of my favorite. They are new, they are special and I love them so much. I was thinking about all of the people in need of help because of their eye sight and it made me realize how blessed I am. I held my daughter in my arms and I saw her. I saw her tiny fingers and toes. I saw her beautiful face. Those moments in the hospital I spend hours looking at my baby and enjoying every minute of her first days. I am grateful to see her. My heart would break if this weren’t possible. And its not possible for everyone. When you help the world see better, you help the world live better. OneSight is an independent nonprofit who is starting a movement to help the world see. This is such an amazing cause to support. Since 1988 they have helped 9 million people in 41 countries see clearly.
How can you help?
Did you know that just $10 helps provide a pair of glasses to a person in need and $30 helps provide a free eye exam and glasses to a person in need? When I look at my week, I can easily think of things that I could give up in order to save $10. Even $30. Do you get a coffee every morning, run through the drive through at lunch? What could could you give up so you could help others and Donate?
