My kids are on Spring break this week. We all know that Spring Break is a lot of fun but often by the end, mom is tired and ready for a getaway. Well, lucky me, I get my own Mom Spring Break next week as I will be heading to Orlando Florida to visit Walt Disney World and learn all about the brand new DisneyNature film, Monkey Kingdom. I love the DisneyNature films. Not only are they incredible to watch but my kids are so in to watching them and learn so much about the world around them. Monkey Kingdom looks like it is going to be amazing. Monkey Kingdom opens in theaters on April 17th and is a fantastic film for the whole family! Plus, when you see Monkey Kingdom opening week (April 17 – 23), Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats!
While in Florida, we will be staying at one of the amazing All Star Vacation Homes. I have known many people who have stayed in these and they are beautiful! I personally prefer staying in a home on a vacation because it is more personal and relaxed. Plus, a game room, theater and a pool? Yes please! Here are some photos of the home that I will be staying in:
From April 14-19th you’ll want to follow the hashtags #MonkeyKingdomEvent, #AllStarVacationHomes and #DisneySide on facebook, twitter and Instagram to follow along. The neat thing about this trip, are that many of the things that we will be sharing with you are experiences that you can have on your next Disney World trip. We will give you a lot of behind the scene details that can help make your trip perfect!
While in Orlando, we will head to Downtown Disney for dinner at The House of Blues and a Screening of Disneynature’s MONKEY KINGDOM. I am looking forward to seeing this movie as the venture into the world of monkeys in beautiful places like Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Indonesia. I think I will have to visit these places in person, because just from the trailer, you can tell that it is amazing! If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, here it is:
Early Wednesday and Thursday, we will be heading to Animal Kingdom for a Backstage Tales Tours and a Wilderness Explorers Competition. I’m really looking forward to both of these because they will give help us experience Animal Kingdom in a way I haven’t before. Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks at Disney World so I am very excited.
I am looking forward to visiting the beautiful restaurant, Sanaa, for lunch and a Q&A session with Greg Peccie, DAKL Animal Operations Manager and Dr. M Sanjayan, Disneynature Ambassador. We will have the opportunity to ask questions all about the Monkey Kingdom and the making of such an amazing film.
I think that I am most excited for the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom. This sounds amazing. This is a privately guided VIP expedition offering close encounters with exotic African wildlife in their native habitat. This is a 3 hour adventure where you get to experience the animals in their habitat, sample African-inspired snacks and walk across that awesome rope bridge pictured above! Cool, huh!
Amazingly, among all of these incredible things we will also have free time to enjoy the Disney World Parks and ride some of our favorite rides! I have not been to Disney World for many years so I am excited to enjoy all it has to offer.
I know that you are probably thinking that there is no way, this trip could get any cooler. Well, it does! We will be spending Friday at Epcot where we will have the chance to Fish Feed at EPCOT’s “Living Seas”, Front row viewing for Dolphin Research overview, receive a Guided tour through select gardens/exhibits at EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, watch a TOMORROWLAND film sneak peak at the Captain EO Theater. (Tomorrowland is in theaters May 22nd) and enjoy a VIP Viewing for Illuminations.
I. Am. So. Excited. Saturday we will have a relaxing day where we get to enjoy the All Star Vacation Homes and enjoy a Magic Show Dinner at The Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show.
